The Zukudashi Cycling Tour starts from the Zukudashi Eco Tours office in the center of Onsen Town Togura-Kamiyamada.? While the course varies with weather, seasonality, group interests, etc., it typically begins by passing through a residential district with stops to point out some fascinating fundamentals of Japanese housing.?
木陰の坂道を登ってかやぶき屋根のお寺に寄ったり、千曲川沿いの歴史的な街並みを見たり
Then the tour ascends up a wooded slope to an ancient thatched-roof temple before descending back down to a historical neighborhood by the Chikuma River.?
果物畑や田んぼを通って、農家さんからお話を聞いたり、ちょこっとお手伝いしてみたり
Along the way, the tour passes through fruit orchards and rice fields, with opportunities to explain how the farmers toil their crops.? Be prepared to get off the cycles and join the farmers in their toil
神社を見学したり、地元に伝わる侍の話を聞いたり・・季節や天気、ご参加の方に合わせてガイドがご案内します。最後は足湯とソフトクリームをお楽しみください。
After visiting a local temple and learning some of the area’s samurai stories, the tour follows the riverside cycling path back to the onsen town and finishes up with ice cream at the onsen foot bath.

５種類の大きさの自転車や二人乗り自転車、子供用トレーラーもありどなたでもご参加いただけます。
Zukudashi bicycles come in five sizes, with a tandem and several trailer bikes available as well.? So anyone from tykes to too-talls can enjoy cycling the scenic Nagano countryside.

ずくだしのガイドと一緒に戸倉上山田の温泉街を巡りましょう。温泉街の路地裏では店主との出会いや試食を楽しんだり、天皇陛下も泊まった旅館の客室を見学したり、また行く先々ではこのツアーの名前でもある「ずくだし」についてお話します。
このツアーでは出会いや発見が楽しめます。また、事前にお申込みいただくとステンドグラスでのお土産づくり体験などのアクティビティにもご参加いただけます。
Join your Zukudashi guide for a walking tour of Onsen Town Togura-Kamiyamada.? Let us take you behind the scenes to many of our town’s family run shops to meet the owners and sample there wares.? Along the way, you will be introduced to many of the area’s heroic Zukudashi stories and see a ryokan guestroom fit for the Emperor.? With prior arrangement, participants will get to partake in a hands-on activity.

戸倉上山田にはたくさんの老舗商店が残っています。また、登録有形文化財に指定されている旅館や鎧兜。店主との出会いやここでしか食べられないもの、見られないものをご案内します。
Togura-Kamiyamada features many family-run businesses and specialty shops.? During the course of the tour, we stop in at many of them, meet the owners, and taste the products they make.? We also visit a historical and architecturally-important hotel as well as a fascinating ‘samurai room’.
自らの手で体験 hands-on activity
お茶マイスターが教えてくれるお茶のおいしい淹れ方や、味噌の匠による味噌汁づくり、ステンドグラスのお土産づくりなど。ずくだしの言葉のとおり、実際に体験できるプランもあります。（要事前予約）
In keeping with the ‘Zukudashi’ spirit, with enough advance notice the walking tour includes an interactive, hands-on lesson.? Examples are learning the proper way to pour Japanese tea (presented by a licensed instructor), a lesson on how to make miso soup, or making a stained glass memento.
